Since moving to La Liga strugglers Granada on-loan, Liverpool’s Tiago Ilori has been turning heads with a number of assured performances — and he’ll continue to rake in the plaudits if he keeps playing passes like this.

The Andalusian side, who are running through a bit of a rough patch after losing three matches straight, needed a win to right the ship and Ilori and Spanish striker Piti combined to score the only as Granada downed Real Betis on Sunday. You’d have to say that it was Xabi Alonsoesque; with both time and space, the Portuguese center half picked out the strikers run with inch perfect perfection and Piti, with a touch to match the pass, stopped the ball dead before slotting home.

It was a much needed win for Granada, but it also gives Liverpool a glimpse of what they can expect in the future from the center half. “He is 6? 3?, super quick, power, can jump, and he just needs to adapt to the pace and physicality of the Premier League” said Reds boss Brendan Rodgers after Ilori made the move to Merseyside this summer. “He is one for the future, but he can be a really big talent.”

stunning…just amazing. One must wonder if we could move him to DM and solve a few problems with passing like that. I saw a longer compilation of his time on the ball and he was making those passes all game to the wingers.
