Luis Alberto Looking Forward to Spending the Season with Malaga CF

Good luck Luis

With all the hub-bub surrounding Luis Suarez’s latest indiscretion, all the other footballing news, including anything else going on at the World Cup, was drowned out for a day or two while pundits and ne’er-do-wells from all walks of life discussed their views on the controversial attacker and the punishment handed down from FIFA.

Of course, while this was kicking off in the media, the world was still turning and there was non-Suarez, but not necessarily non-Luis, related news to be had — like 21-year old Luis Alberto finally completing his season long loan move to La Liga outfit Malaga CF as the Reds try to get the promising youngster some much needed first team experience.

“I’ve got a good feeling about this, I was really keen to join Málaga CF. I hope to perform well this upcoming season, both individually and as a team” he told media outlet Inside Spanish Football. “I’d like to thank Málaga and Mario Husillos for giving me this opportunity. I now need to focus on working hard, I hope to perform well this upcoming season, both individually and as a team.”

Alberto was always going to be one for the future after arriving from Sevilla last summer for an undisclosed fee, but he’s endured a bit of a torrid time in England with his first team chances limited and a drink driving ban imposed following an incident in April. With loan spells for the likes of Suso and Fabio Borini working wonders last year, maybe a move back to familiar territory is exactly what he needs to get his head straight and mind focused.
