Daniel Sturridge Headed to Boston on Road to Recovery

Boston strong?

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has already spent time in Los Angeles, California meeting with specialists and warm weather training as he looks to shake off the unfortunate spat of injuries that have kept him sidelined since the end of August, now the 25-year old is set to visit Boston on his road to recovery.

With an eye to an early return in the New Year, Sturridge will spend Christmas in the United States with the Boston Red Sox’s medical specialists. The baseball team, who are also owned by primary Liverpool owner John Henry, will work with the striker over the holidays as he tries to finally return to action. The Reds had a busy week, drawing Turkish side Besiktas in the Europa League Round of 32 and setting up a choice League Cup semi-final clash with top-flight league leaders Chelsea after downing Championship pace-setters AFC Bournemouth — just a few of the many important matches they could use the striker’s help navigating.

A string of calf and thigh injuries have restricted the England man to a mere three appearances for the Reds this season, and with Brendan Rodgers boys struggling to find the net, his absence has been magnified ten-fold.

Earlier in the week, Sturridge took to social media to pine for a return to action, posting a picture of him celebrating scoring a goal with the caption “Can’t wait for this feeling again ..” accompanying it. After making an early exit from the Champions League and languishing mid-table domestically, it’s safe to say that he’s not the only one who can’t wait for him to be fit and firing again.
