Only 90 minutes left to save our blushes. An hour and a half to set this wretched season right. Our only chance at Silverware this season is a second tier competition that no one actually wants to play in.
It’s been too long since there was a new addition to our trophy case. For all the promise of things to come it’s been a roughshod ride since our last triumph. The pessimists, cynics and boo-boys are laughing right now but I can’t hear them. Not today. We’ve got a job to do and I damn well think we’re going to do it.
We’ve got black clouds all around but I’m looking for that one ray of sunshine. A one goal deficit to overcome against a team that has Sergio Aguero1 returning from a suspension. Torres is out for the season following knee surgery. If Rafa doesn’t get the sack he might be out the door to Juve. Aquilani got some praise so we probably won’t see him ever again. Ryan Babel2 will be our only recognized striker as Ngog’s back is still a question and Kuyt’s shin is still a bother. Looks like rain but I’ll leave the slicker at home.
European nights are always something special at Anfield. I don’t need to say it and you don’t need to hear it. A loss tomorrow3 would banish this season into history hell but a win….it just might save it. We’ve had far harder tasks to overcome and it can all change on the drop of a hat. Glory on the pitch and a smile on every Scouser’s face. It might only be the Europa League but wouldn’t it be nice?

I think Babel might be the silver lining in this dark cloud. Would you rather have Ngog? Injuries are forcing Rafa to put out a decent squad.
i’m going to have to stick with Ngog .. i trust him in front of the net far more than i do Babel .. i hope beyond hope that he proves me horribly, terribly wrong ..
Babel has performed better coming in from the wing and cutting in causing defenders hassles though the only problem is he often puts his head down and just runs. Ive got hope as well and this season has been about hope and nothing else. lets see what happens tonight YNWA
Babel reminds me of Milan Baros without all the rhyme dropin’ ..
It’s easy to say that Babel isn’t as good forward when he never plays forward. I thought he was much more threatening in the second half against Burnley than Kuyt was.
