Comolli Got Canned

I picture it going down a little like this...
With only 48 hours left before the Reds run out at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final, the club has announced that Damien Comolli will no longer be continuing in his role as Director of Football. The party line is that he left by “mutual consent” after joining the club in November 2010. Damien’s magical laptop became a thing of lore, but with a number of high priced, high profile signings coming up short, the boys in the backroom have begun to chop heads. Under-fire Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish knows the score and took a moment to very delicately express his disappointment ahead of the Reds trip to the Captial. Though we may not know for sure, leaving by “mutual consent” sounds a whole lot like “fired” to the News Desk.

He was let go.  Tom Werner’s interview at the LFC site makes that pretty clear.

Wonder if they’ll replace him or give Kenny more say over transfers.
