Luis Suarez Awaits FIFA Action Over Punch
It wouldn’t be a day that ended in “Y” if Luis Suarez wasn’t in the news; the News Desk has been mum on the swirling transfer rumours surrounding our prized striker since it’s a tad early to be talking talking about wheels and deals, but when Suarez faces a retrospective ban from FIFA for punching an opponent on the sly, we’ve got to give the Uruguayan some column space.
If losing 2-0 to the Chileans and being stuck 6th in their qualifying group wasn’t bad enough, Suarez could face a lengthy ban after replays suggest that he aimed a punch at the head of Gonzalo Jara as he and the defender tussled in the box awaiting a corner kick. The Nottinham Forest man — on loan from West Bromwhich Albion — didn’t go to ground, but a heated exchange followed between the two. Although the incident appeared to be missed initially, Suarez did pick up a booking later in the match which will rule him out of Uruguay’s next qualifying match with Venezuela.
While the video evidence doesn’t look kindly on the Liverpool striker, the decision to take further action falls at the feet of FIFA. The World Governing Body is awaiting a report from the referee, which is expected to be filed by Thursday.
What an idiot you are, since when FIFA has something to do with South America qualification? since when? please answer, stop writing bullshit about Suarez.
Dude, relax, regardless of the governing body, our main man has done a stupid thing and will be punished for it. He is a star, no doubt, but this guy isn’t writing bullshit.
World Cup Qualifiers, regardless of geographic location, are governed by FIFA….
Suarez = clown. What does fifa have to do with south american soccer??? You are an idiot. I hope he gets 10 games plus. Racist dirty bastard.
I’m guessing this is a reply aimed at ‘uruguay-soccer’ or else it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
