Suarez to Play in Melbourne

Luis is drinking on the job
It’s been all huffs but very little puffs from Luis Suarez lately and now that the obligatory oblique opening line is taken care of, the News Desk can confirm that the Uruguayan will be in the Liverpool squad on Wednesday to face the Melbourne Victory. Not only will the want-away striker be included in the side, he’s also slated to play.

This will be the first time Suarez has played in a Liverpool shirt since being banned for 10 matches for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in April. After the striker was granted an extended vacation following Uruguay’s involvement in the Confederations Cup, speculation was rife that he’d use that time to formalize a move away from Liverpool after rumors surfaced that he had agreed to personal terms with Real Madrid. When a bid from the Spanish giants failed to materialize, Arsenal decided to take a crack at snatching him up and the club confirmed that they rejected a bid from the North London side believed to be in the region of £30mil, calling it “short of our valuation of the player”.

Although little has changed and Suarez is still angling for a move away from Liverpool, the Reds have confirmed that the striker will play a part in the sell-out match against the Melbourne Victory, though the extent of his involvement was not elaborated on, despite this Australian bookie Luxbet has Liverpool strong favourites at $1.27.. “The players are not quite up to 90 minutes yet, but they will all be involved” said the Ulsterman ahead of the match. With Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain rumored to be in the final stages of completing a move to Napoli begin to gain traction, renewed interest from the Spanish Capital is expected in the coming weeks, though the club maintain that Suarez is not for sale – unless something drastic happens. If they consider an improved bid from Arsenal or concrete interest from Carlo Ancelotti’s side something “drastic” then this could be the last time we see Suarez in Liverpool red.
