Liverpool to Sign Chelsea Winger Victor Moses On Loan

Moses won’t be seeing these guys for awhile
After a big day behind the News Desk, we’re at it again with the fax machine buzzing into the wee hours of the morning with major-media outlets now reporting that Liverpool have agreed to take Chelsea winger Victor Moses on a season long loan.

Brendan Rodgers has been keen on bringing the out of favour Nigerian to Anfield after missing out on a number of high profile, high priced attacking options this summer, but with the London club looking for a £2mil loan fee upfront, the Reds weren’t about to to shell out that much for his services. Though Chelsea were at first hesitant to loan the winger to another Premier League side, it would now appear that the two clubs have reached a compromise with the fee split in half, but there is now no deal in place to make the move permanent should he impress on Merseyside.

The terms of the loan may mean that the attacker could have a shot at extending his stay in the capital after this year, though for the time being, he’s not in Blues boss Jose Mourinho’s plans for this coming season. Moses has seen himself fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge after a number of acquisitions by the Europa League winners pushed the winger out of the frame. Although he travelled to Prague, where Chelsea missed out on Super Cup glory having fallen to Bayern Munich in a penalty shoot-out, Mourinho did not see it fit to name him in the starting line-up. With Manchester United coming to Anfield tomorrow, we’re expecting official confirmation from the club sometime afterwards, but for now, it looks like this one is all wrapped up.

agreed; with Suarez still out, we need someone with EPL experience that can put the ball in the net. i love our young squad but their relative lack of time at the top level will take some serious minutes on the pitch to overcome. good stop gap signing in the mean time.
