It’s been quiet around the News Desk since the international break swung into full effect, but we’ve got some news you may have missed with a pair of Liverpool youngsters having their loan deals cancelled. That’s not something you hear about too often when it concerns the Reds, but both Michael Ngoo and Joao Carlos Teixeira have now returned to Merseyside.
Ngoo, who was supposed to spend the next year on loan at Championship side Yeovil Town, is returning to his parent club after only three-months. The towering 20-year old made seven appearances total for the Glovers after signing for them in July. Although Ngoo is yet to make his full-debut for the Reds, he’s still seen as a vital talent for the future and will return to Alex Inglethorpe’s Under-21s squad.
Brentford Football Club have also confirmed that Joao Carlos Teixeira has had his youth loan deal cancelled after just 28-days. The attacking midfielder, who was slated to stay with the League One side until the new year made only two appearances from the bench during his brief spell with the club. Despite sending the youngster back early, Bees sporting director Mark Warburton said “I would like to place on record our appreciation to Frank McParland and the Liverpool staff for allowing Joao to spend some time with us.”
The Reds still have a number of players out on loan with Conor Coady, Fabio Borini, Oussama Assaidi, Jack Robinson, Pepe Reina, Suso and Krisztián Adorján spread across the country. With such a young squad, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has sent a number of players out on loan to get some valuable playing time — too bad it didn’t work out for either Ngoo or Teixeira.
