VIDEO: Skrtel on a Hat-Trick as Liverpool Batter Arsenal

MS 2nd Goal vs Arsenal by LFCmostar

We knew Liverpool were free-scoring at Anfield, but I don’t think anyone predicted this as the Reds go into half-time leading by a mind-boggling four goals.

A nice as you like free-kick in the opening minute from Steven Gerrard found a marginally offside Martin Skrtel who controlled well to finish past Wojciech Szczesny. Another delivery from the Captain — this time from a corner — saw the big Slovakian bang home another one with a header that even the most talented center forward would be proud of.

The scenes were unreal at Anfield and it only got more unbelievable as Daniel Sturridge shot wide and Luis Suarez smacked one off the post. You’d think that would be that, but there were more goals in it for the hosts when good work from Jordan Henderson pushed the ball wide for Suarez and the Uruguayan’s low cross was inch perfect for Raheem Sterling to tap home. The youngster beat Sturridge, who was also lurking for that cross, to the ball, but the England man wouldn’t be denied his name on the scoresheet when Philippe Coutinho sent him running in on net with a perfect through-ball for him to finish coolly past Szczesny.

You’ve got to give credit to Brendan Rodgers who’s got things spot on today for the Reds. We’ve still got 45-minutes left to go; enough time for Suarez to bag one or two?
