Fabio Borini’s Agent Refuses to Confirm Anything Amid Fiorentina Rumours

After allowing veteran hit-man Mario Gomez to join Turkish side Besiktas on a season long loan deal, Serie A outfit Fiorentina are looking to bring in some fire-power before the transfer window closes after missing out on Chelsea man Mohamed Salah. Although they’ve denied being in contact with Liverpool over want-away misfit Mario Balotelli, they’ve also refused to rule out making a last ditch attempt to sign the 24-year old.

While the Viola are unlikely to make good on that tantalizing bit of transfer teasing, one player that they could very well make a move for is Balotelli’s compatriot and current team-mate Fabio Borini. Left off of the Reds pre-season tour and ignored for pretty much the entirety of the previous campaign, the former AS Roma man is the definition of surplus to requirements with boss Brendan Rodgers having Divock Origi return from his season long stint at French side Lille and opting to bring in Danny Ings from Burnley and Christian Benteke from Aston Villa rather than give the 24-year old a chance to prove his worth.

A number of Italian sides have been linked with an interest in Borini, but with less than a month left in the transfer window, Fiorentina have emerged as the favourites to bring the once promising striker back to Serie A. That being said, without anything resembling a firm offer on the table, his agent has stressed that a deal is far from done — though he hopes to have something soon.

“Right now there is no news, we are evaluating various situations,” Marco De Marchi told Italian media outlet Radio Blu when asked where the 24-year would be playing his football this year. “Fiorentina? I do not want to name names in order to comply with the wishes of Liverpool and the teams who have contacted me. We will see what the best solution is,” he continued, stressing just how important his client’s decision will be. “I hope that his situation will be sorted soon. We must make an important decision for his career, perhaps it’s the most important decision of his career. This is why we must not make mistakes.”

You could at least try to say something nice about him and his agent so he maintains a little bit of value in the transfer market! Hate to think he will stay at Anfield because you have put everyone off him with your damning opinion…. I will blame you! lol!
