Although most of the media speculation swirling around Liverpool these days involves boss Jurgen Klopp raiding former club Borussia Dortmund and their wealth of talent, there’s really no shortage of stories about the Reds angling for players in the market with the latest doing the rounds involving their interest in Rubin Kazan midfielder Magomed Ozdoyev — a story his agent was keen to expand on.
“It’s true that European clubs are interested in Magomed,” Thomas Zorn told Euro-football.ru when asked about what the future holds for his client. “At the moment, the most interest comes from the Bundesliga, but English clubs have also watched him,” he continued, fueling speculation that the Anfield outfit are keeping an eye on the talented midfielder. “Magomed is the type of player who can adapt to any league, he would suit German football perfectly.”
Rumour has it that Klopp spent somewhere in the region of 15-minutes chatting with the 23-year old following the Reds narrow victory over the Tartars back in November. Whether or not that qualifies the German manager as having a genuine interest in the player remains to be seen, but Zorn has been happy to use the speculation to his client’s advantage.
“It is too early to talk about specific proposals,” he continued, leaving out the names of German club Schalke, French powerhouses Lyon and Russian outfit Spartak Moscow who have also been linked with his client. “However, in the winter I will have several meetings on the future,” he explained, before adding the always helpful, “Let’s see how the situation will develop.”
