This is All Quite Familiar

Go ahead and find an excuse...
Is it pompous to quote yourself? “I’ve never been so glad to see a season come to an end.” That’s rarely rang quite as true as today after the Reds stumbled to a closing day defeat at the Liberty Stadium, and with that lousy 1-0 reversal we’ve recording our worst league campaign in 19 years. Danny Graham’s 86th minute strike was enough to pull in all three points for the Swans, who were secure enough in their point tally to not worry about the relegation scraps playing themselves out at grounds all over the country. Brendan Rodgers spent some time defending the record of Kenny Dalglish the day before the match, but I’m quite interested to know exactly what he thinks now.

Last day of the season, nothing left to play for, result no longer matters; I wrote it and you’ve read it all before, either here or somewhere else, and even with the result today it’s no less true. Three more points on the tally wouldn’t have put us above Everton. Our neighbors shocked Newcastle to kill off any hope of the Tyneside outfit qualifying for the Champions League and finish above their closest rivals for the first time in 5 years. That’s not the problem.

Winning just the Carling Cup? Not the problem. Playing with all the invention of a dug up corpse? That’s the problem. Leaving nothing on the pitch at the end of the match? That’s a problem. Lackadaisical disregard for our club, our history and most importantly our fans? You better believe that’s a problem.

I don’t know where the root of all evil springs from. The more time I spend trying to figure it out, the less it all makes sense. There’s a season review coming up — an exercise in sadism — maybe I’ll find some words for that. After today’s result, the last thing I want to do is think about or discuss our current predicament.

-steven.

Can’t find up from down or tell black from white, but doesn't care cause it’s all Red to him. When he's not pissing and moaning about all things Liverpool, he’s chatting nonsense with his multiple personalities — or his “entourage” as he likes to call them.

Again yesterday the first half was DIABOLICAL – the Manager is the worst in the Prem and we will be serious relegation material if he is still there – Act now John Henry

Problem is split like this, 70% players, 30% tactics responsibility 100% manager. To get back up there the starting point is a current world class manager then whowever that is needs to find the right players.

We all love Kenny and I tell you, he will be the first to admit if he is not what Liverpool FC needs. The next few days should be interesting, lets not chew it over any more than that.

This season is what happens when you play with 10 men a game – Why on earth KK persists in playing, Downing, the leagues most cowardly and lazy player all season is the reason – he is a total waste of space in every way and is up there with the worst of them – Voronin and Jovanovic never had the opportunities that Downing has had – seeing his name on the team sheet and his face on the pitch just makes me angry and seriously doubt KK’s ability sometimes

Let me get straight to the point yeah. We are 8th because we bought players who (a) are not good enough for a top 4 level and (b) don’t have a big-club mentality. Dalglish is fully accountable for this. If he leaves everything will get better. This season has been an embarrassing failure.

It amazes me that people single out the one player, for me I think there has been a few that have been way below the standard we would expect of a Liverpool player.

Downing has indeed been very poor this season, 0 goals 0 assists in the league says it all as far as I’m concerned, never wanted Downing as I knew he was not good enough, we spent Juan Mata money on this lad, Arda Turan who had openly expressed his desire to play for us was sold for around half that fee and he’s 10 times the player.
But the biggest question has to be is why would Kenny leave Maxi on the bench when he’s probably our best winger at the moment, scores goals and links well with Suarez, very intelligent player.

Henderson for whatever reason has been given games based on poor performances and still shows nothing to suggest he’ll be good enough, yet again a better player was left on the bench who happened to be our highest scorer last season from the wing, it just makes no sense whatsoever, Kuyt, Suarez, Maxi and Meireles were at times unplayable last season, so it’s got to be asked, why did Kenny sell Maxi only to replace him with inferior players?
As well as this we have better players in the reserves waiting for a chance, Sterling and Shelvey.

Adam seems to be a player that would suit a mid table side at best, again it’s got to be asked why Kenny allowed Meireles to be sold, Cole and Aqualani to be loaned out? I’ve heard fans say Aqualani is a crock, but Adam and Gerrard have missed good chunks of the season due to injury, we need players with game intelligence and we will not get that with Adam, Henderson and Downing, Kuyt is still being chosen to represent Holland who are the second best national side in the world yet can’t get a game for a mid table side because some kid that has been nowhere and done nothing is being picked ahead of him regardless of form.

Poor signings, bad tactics and shocking team selections!

Ps There is probably only one out of the top ten managers in Europe that would consider managing us at present, he’s got a short commute and loves the club to death!

I’ve often found myself defending KK against all that wanted to slate him this season, however, upon reflection I realise it was with blinded loyalty.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all that I have had heated debate with, called glory-hunters, told to go support Chevski and generally labelled as deluded…I WAS WRONG!!!!

During that time, I also found arguments against a “hypothetical” Rafa return….the strongest reason I used was that Unai Emery “would be” available.

Now that the season has finished, and that Emery is off to Moscow, I realise that the best thing for our club is Rafa…….

In Rafa We Trust…..let’s hope FSG share this sentiment.

We love you kenny but you are never the right person. It’s just a shame a large proportion of fans think you are bigger than the club.Shame on them. They are no different from the fans who murdered 39 innocent people at Heysel.
