The News Desk has been waiting for this moment for quite some time and if reports in this morning’s press are to be believed, Derby County will be the England u21 captain’s home for the remainder of the campaign – though, in typical Liverpool fashion, there has been no official confirmation from the club; not yet anyways.
Wisdom, who has made a pair of appearances for the Reds in the league so far this season, is sitting quite a ways down the Anfield pecking order with both Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling apparently ahead of him for the right-wingback slot in Rodgers new look 3-5-2 formation and everyone, including the kit-man, ahead of him for a central role. Derby County boss Steve McLaren is said to have made an inquiry for the versatile center-back who could benefit greatly from the physical demands of the Championship. Not only that, but he’ll get to play in the same side as – and possibly encourage – Reds target Will Hughes.
The attacking midfielder is said to be top of Brendan Rodgers wish list, along with scores of other Premier League clubs, for the January transfer window. The Reds were said to be close to a £10mil deal during the summer, only for the deal to fall apart in the closing stages.
