Here’s everything you need to know about LFCTV’s special tribute show to former striker Diogo Jota airing Monday 7th July.
Liverpool Football Club’s official channel, LFCTV, paused its regular programming to pay a heartfelt tribute to Diogo Jota, the late Liverpool forward tragically passed away on July 3rd in a car accident in Spain alongside his brother André Silva.
Currently LFCTV remains off-air, replaced by an on screen homage featuring a striking greyscale image of Jota making his iconic heart gesture with his fingers. Alongside the photograph, the club’s solemn official statement reads:
Diogo Jota 1996–2025. Liverpool Football Club are devastated by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota.
The 28-year-old passed away following a road traffic accident in Spain, along with his brother, Andre.
Liverpool FC requests the privacy of Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, teammates and club staff is respected as they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss.

In addition to this moving tribute, LFCTV have aired a brief video tribute released by the club on social media, further honouring Diogo’s legacy.
As the channel prepares to resume normal programming, a dedicated special honouring Diogo Jota will air on Monday 7th July at 6pm and 10pm (BST). The hour-long program, filmed at Anfield, invites fans to join in remembering the ‘lad from Portugal’ whose impact on the club was profound and whose presence will be deeply missed by teammates, staff, and supporters alike.
Following this tribute show, at 7pm (BST), LFCTV will broadcast a 30 minute compilation titled “Diogo Jota: All the Goals.” This special episode will celebrate every one of the 65 goals Jota scored for Liverpool during his five years at the club, offering fans a chance to relive the moments that defined his time on Merseyside.
The description for his goals compilation reads: “Remember the impact Diogo made on us as we run through every one of his 65 Liverpool goals.” It promises to be an emotional journey through the career highlights of a player who was cherished both on and off the pitch.”
LFCTV will also air a 15-minute highlight reel at 9:45 (BST) from Liverpool’s Merseyside derby win over Everton at Anfield during the 2024/25 season the match in which Diogo Jota scored his final goal for the club. In a tense encounter, the 28-year-old broke the deadlock with a brilliant solo effort, weaving through defenders before slotting home the only goal of the game. His strike not only secured the derby victory but also proved crucial in Liverpool’s push toward their 20th league title.
