Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has etched his name into the club’s history books after he hit the back of the net during the Reds’ 4-1 victory over Barnsley.
The Hungarian international scored the first of Liverpool’s four goals as they advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup on Tuesday evening in what was a positive performance.
Liverpool will now face fellow Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round which is set to take place over the weekend of the 14th and 15th of February.
Szoboszlai fired a 25-yard screamer past Barnsley keeper Murphy Cooper in the 9th minute of their clash at Anfield before Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike added to Liverpool’s tally.
His strike against the League One club means that he becomes just the third player in Liverpool’s history to score from outside the box in the Premier League, Champions League, League Cup and FA Cup.
Club legends Steven Gerrard and John Arne Riise are the only other players to accomplish this impressive feat since the beginning of the inaugural Premier League season in 1992.

The Hungary skipper became the centre of attention later on in the fixture against Barnsley however after he made a surprising error which saw Adam Phillips score to give his club a consolation goal.
Barnsley manager Conor Hourihane actually brandished Szoboszlai’s mistake as ‘disrespectful’, although the star midfielder did apologise to his teammates and fans after the match ended.
