AC Milan Want to Bag Liverpool Midfielder Suso on a Free Transfer

Milan are still interested

There were whispers that Liverpool would be sending promising attacking midfielder Suso back out on loan this year, but with the transfer window closed and the youngster still at the club, it looks like the Spaniard will be fighting for his place at Anfield until at least January.

Italian side AC Milan was rumoured to be the 20-year olds destination should he be allowed to leave with the Rossonerri said to be keen admirers of his many talents — an interest they’ve retained even with the window shut up nice and tight. According to Sky Italia, the Milanese outfit are switching gears and instead of hoping for a loan, they’d like to sign him outright when his contract expires next summer.

Since pretty much everyone in the Reds hierarchy can do simple math, Liverpool are surely well aware that his contract is running down and their hesitation at sending him out on another loan more likely than not signals that Suso has a future at Anfield — and, if not, they’re not going to just let a promising prospect like him leave on a Bosman, now are they?

Suso agrees with that as well. Although he’s publicly stated that his preference is to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool, when linked with a move to Portuguese side FC Porto this summer, the attacking-midfielder went on the offensive. “I will only renew with Liverpool if I’m guaranteed I’ll play regularly. The option is clear if I don’t renew: let me leave. I think Liverpool thinks the same” he said before turning the screw a little bit harder. “They won’t let me leave on a free in a year if I don’t renew. Let see what happens.”

This could make January mighty interesting…
