Daniel Sturridge Injured While Training With England

No, no, no, no, no, no…

If England boss Roy Hodgson can’t learn to play nice with our toys, it’s about time we quit lending them to him. With the opening match of England’s Euro 2016 qualifiers just around the corner, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been ruled out of it with a thigh injury.

More importantly, with the Reds Premier League season only three matches in and the start of their Champions League campaign on the horizon, Sturridge has still been ruled out — unfortunately for us, this doesn’t just affect England. The 25-year old left training at St. George’s Park yesterday after injuring his thigh, and though there’s been no official confirmation from the club as they asses the damage, there are fears that he could miss up to four months.

“Daniel Sturridge has had a scan and will now return to Liverpool FC for treatment” and FA spokesperson told the media. “He will play no part in the forthcoming Switzerland match.”

Sturridge, along with clubmates Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson, were the few bright spots in a rather dismal display as the Three Lions labored to a unconvincing 1-0 win over Norway at Wembley earlier in the week. While Hodgons will likely be ruing the absence of the 25-year old, Liverpool fans will be cursing their former boss for sending him back to Anfield crocked yet again.

More on this when there’s official word from the club…
