PHOTO: Daniel Sturridge Can’t Wait to Make Liverpool Return

There’s been a lot of talk about football players and social media lately, but Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has kept his nose clean when out and about on the internet with the 25-year old using his Instagram account to pine for a return to action.
“Can’t wait for this feeling again ..” wrote the Reds attacker after posting a picture of him celebrating a goal on the popular photo sharing site. A string of thigh and calf problems have kept Sturridge sidelined since the end of August, much to the chagrin of the Liverpool faithful. The Anfield outfit have struggled without their star forward this year, dropping out of the Champions League with a mere one win to their name and languishing in 11th place in the Premier League table going into this weekend’s meeting with Arsenal.
To make matters worse, the 3-0 reversal at the hands of bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday has halted a half decent run of form that saw the Reds go unbeaten in three matches for the first time this campaign. “Absolutely gutted for everyone. Woke up and watched the game and it hurts. I’m optimistic though and I hope everyone else feels the same” wrote Sturridge on Twitter following the defeat. “Just know I’m working hard to ensure I’m back healthy. I miss everything about the game. I can’t wait to help us be successful.”
Barring any further setbacks, the 25-year old is expected to be fit enough to return to action early in the New Year after completing a rehabilitation program that’s included some warm weather training and meetings with specialists in the United States.
