James Milner Sent for Scan Ahead of West Bromwich Albion Meeting

Coming off the back of a disappointing draw with bitter rivals Manchester United on Monday night, Liverpool will be looking to get back to winning ways when West Bromwich Albion visit Anfield at the weekend, but before you swing over to Bethut to get the inside track on which bookie is offering the best promos, you may want to wait to hear the results of the scan Reds fullback James Milner is having on his head.

It’s a rare occasion when the 30-year old is subbed off the field, but following two heavy knocks — including a clash of heads with young gun Marcus Rashford — he eventually limped to the sidelines during the closing stages to be replaced by Alberto Moreno. Although the injury is not believed to be serious and Milner is expected to be ready to face the Baggies on Saturday, according to a number of major media outlets, the Anfield outfit are taking the proper precautions to insure that there’s no lingering issues.

Which, of course, is good news for Liverpool supporters. Looking as good going forward as he has at the back, he’s claimed four goals and an assist already, but his no nonsense style of defending and positional awareness have proved far more important during the early going. Never one to listen to criticism, the veteran utility man has been one of the Reds standout performers despite operating in a wholly unfamiliar role — something that the boss knew he’d be capable of doing.

“I remember when I spoke to Millie for the first time,” said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, recalling the conversation he had with Milner. “I asked what does he think about the left. He said that he wouldn’t have the ball too much,” said the German with a knowing smile. “I said stop. You will have the ball much more than you can imagine,” he said with a laugh, before adding matter-of-factly, “Now that’s how it is.”
