Liverpool Look to Bounce Back from Bournemouth Defeat by Setting Up Shop in Barcelona

There’s no better way to put some disappointment behind you than by getting out of town for a bit and Liverpool have done just that with a midweek jaunt to Spain. Although they’ll be put their their pacy in sunny Catalonia, the squad will also enjoy a day off while on the continent with the Champions League meeting between Barcelona and Borussia Monchengladbach on the docket before returning to Merseyside.

“That’s the one thing you’ve got to do: try and learn from it as best you can and use it for the next game,” Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson told the club’s official website. “Obviously we’ll be disappointed for the next couple of days but we’ll get back on the training pitch, get back working hard, and focus on the next game,” added the 26-year old, keen to move forward. “You’ve got to give credit to Bournemouth, they kept going right until the end but we’ve got to learn from it quickly, move on and make sure we’re right at it in the next game.”

Missing out on a chance to move back in to second place, the Reds conceded four second half goals to the Cherries as the South Coast club claimed their first ever victory over the Anfield outfit. Without the calming influence of Joel Matip — who is in Spain and is taking part in the mini-training camp — it was a return to the shambolic defending of old, highlighting once again why the club should be sniffing around for another top class defender. In the meantime, the club will look to take advantage of some warm weather over the next two days before heading back to England with the focus squarely on taking out the Hammers on Sunday.

“I don’t really look at that to be honest,” explained Henderson, shifting the focus away from the league table. “I’ve said many a time before, we concentrate on ourselves. If you’re concentrating on other teams then you’re not focused on what you need to do,” continued the Liverpool captain. “It’s bitterly disappointing today, it’s hard to explain, but we just have to move on as best we can and put this one behind us.”
