Luis Suarez Returns to Training and Willian Looks for a Club Like Liverpool
The 25-year old winger is on the chopping block as mega-rich Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala look to cut costs and ship out their big money stars. Willian, who arrived for £30mil in January, is angling for a move to England and with the Reds weighing up a bid that’s sure to meet his valuation, the Brazilian seems keen on a move to Merseyside. “It’s not true that we will be allowed to leave for nothing. But the owner has said if he gets an offer close to what he paid for the players, then they can go. So I am hoping there will be something from Liverpool, because England has a league that I’ve dreamed of playing in.” If those words don’t encourage Ian Ayre to book a ticket to Mother Russia, then nothing will.
In somewhat related news, Luis Suarez has begun training with the Liverpool first team again after being banished by Brendan Rodgers following his newspaper outburst. Apparently the Reds boss doesn’t like being called a liar and demanded an apology from the striker before he would be allowed to return to normal training sessions. Whether or not the Northern Irishman ever got his “sorry” is contentious, but with news this morning that Aly Cissokho would be joining up on a season long loan and with Willian putting himself firmly in the frame for a move to Anfield, it’s looking like the Uruguayans previous complaints about the squad not being strong enough to compete for a Champions League spot is about to be addressed. More on this as it progresses…
