Luis Suarez Dismisses Speculation Ahead of Being Pushed Wide on Liverpool Return

Hug it out
It’s all gone a bit quiet behind the News Desk with the transfer market closed and the boys off on International Duty. To be honest, we’re missing the happy squeal of the fax machine almost to the point that we wish the window was still open – but then we’d probably have to deal with more Luis Suarez rumors, wouldn’t we?

Then again, maybe not; the Uruguayan, who still has a handful of matches to serve in his 10-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic last season, is in South America this week ahead of a pair of crunch World Cup qualifiers. Upon landing in Montevideo on Monday night, he was quick to dismiss any rumors of a ditch attempt by Real Madrid to sign him on deadline day. “For, me, it has been closed for some time. I made the decision to stay at Liverpool some weeks ago, and I want to stay and work for the team from now on” said Suarez whose words may have been slightly influenced by Liverpool principal owner John W. Henry’s very public insistence — amazingly just before the striker decided to stay — that he will not be sold to anyone, for any price.

Although speculation is mounting that upon his return he will be shifted out to the wing to keep the red hot Daniel Sturridge as the focal point of Liverpool’s attack, Suarez insists he’s just looking to win back the fans that have stood by him during his trying time in England. “I will go back to Liverpool to play, and I hope to be the same player the fans can trust” said the striker whose first game back will be the Reds trip to Old Trafford in the next round of the Capital One Cup – a match that may see him pushed out to a wider position. Sturridge, who has scored in each of Liverpool’s opening three matches, is expected to keep his place up top with Philippe Coutinho moving to the middle as Suarez, who has missed the last 10 league matches through suspension, is shifted out to the wing to accommodate the pair. Now, if that does come to pass, we’ll see what the outspoken Uruguayan has to say about that…

Its all media conjecture based on Sturridge prolific form as a centre forward. What does the media take BR for? An unintelligent coach who discuss team strategy and tactics in public. Phew! Let LFC Management, technical team, players and fans savour the early wins and form without such foolish media rubbish.

All brought up by the deluded media. Rodgers plays often in 4-2-2-2 formation, so Suarez can play behind or around Sturridge. English media are really shameless.

Most newspapers are in manchester and as for sky blatant favourtism for them…could be a great year if the refs actually do ” even it out over the year ” ..people keep saying we will get fourth we need to aim higher much higher ..if we can win next 3 then maybe people will think its possible Y.N.W.A

While I’d tend to agree, speculating that a manager is going to keep a player that’s scoring in his favoured position isn’t much of a reach; that’s an educated, and very safe, guess.

Rodgers has tended to encourage his front three (Sturridge, Aspas and Coutinho up to this point) to interchange. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Sturridge, Suarez and Moses doing the same with Coutinho pushing Henderson out of the side and playing in front of Gerrard and Lucas.

The English media lacks common sense and is very BIAS about speaking indirectly that Sturridge is the key player for Liverpool upfront and we all know why they are doing that and it is because he is an English. I can recall three or four seasons ago when Rooney was the highest goal scorer in the league, the English media and past English players were even saying that Rooney was the best player in the English league and is on the same level with Messi and Ronaldo. They were also saying that he is the best English player since Bobby Charlton. If Rooney had scored the same amount of goals as Suarez and that incredible ridiculous goal that Suarez scored against New Castle ; taking the ball on his shoulder, from a ball being passed from about 50 yards they would have said that Rooney is better that Ronaldo or Messi combined. That goal against New Castle is one of the best goals I have ever seen and probably he is the first footballer to ever take a ball on his shoulder that has been passed from 50 yards and a defender pressuring him and then beat the keeper and scored and that is ridiculous and unbelievable. Suarez is one of the best players in the world and obviously the best player in the league and last season he was the best player in the league. However, the P.F.L.A was bias with their choice of awarding Gareth Bale P.F.L.A player of the year due to Suarez being South American and his indiscipline behavior on the field. Gareth Bale is a talented player but Suarez is more talented and gifted. Gareth Bale is a bit predictable, as he tends to move to the left and take his shots at the goal on a regular basis and he has speed and he dribbles fast with the ball. On the other hand, Suarez tends to go to the right or to the left or in the middle on a regular basis and is unpredictable, dribbles fast with the ball. better passer of the ball and a better free kicker and that is what makes him stand out in the league

I think you’re right in a lot of respects; the English media is biased, the goal against Newcastle was one of the best we’re likely to see anyone score, Rooney is overrated crap and Gareth Bale wasn’t actually the best player in the Premier League last season, but with that being said, I think the press is right to hype Sturridge up and say that he’s going to retain his place.

With a scoring record like his — with two against Manchester United in two games no less — if Rodgers drops him in favour of Suarez or pushed him out to the wing instead, then he’s lost the plot. If Luis comes back and earns his place up front then so be it, but for the time being there’s no conceivable reason to displace Sturridge and bias. race, religion, creed or nationality has absolutely nothing to do with that.

IF STURRIDGE WAS A WORLD CLASS PLAYER I COULD UNDERSTAND BUT HE IS NOT AND SUAREZ IS MATCH FIT AND IS A WORLD CLASS PLAYER. IT WAS DUE TO THE P.F.L.A BEING BIASED BY GIVING HIM A TEN MATCH BAN AND HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN AT LEAST 4 OR 5 BANS, I HAVE SEEN WHERE PLAYERS ELBOW PAYERS, STOMP PLAYERS IN THEIR LEG, BELLY ETC AND ONLY RECEIVED 3 MATCH SUSPENSIONS. IF IT WAS LIONEL MESSI ,IBRAMOVICH, CHRISTIANO RONALDO OR OTHER WORLD CLASS PLAYERS WHO SCORED CONSISTENTLY AND PERFORMED EXCEPTIONALLY WELL LAST SEASON AND HAD BEEN SUSPENDED FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF GAMES AND A PLAYER ON EACH OF THEIR TEAM WHO ARE NOT WORLD CLASS PLAYERS SCORED ABOUT 3 OR 4 GOALS BEFORE THE RETURN OF IBRA, MESSI OR RONALDO, THEY WOULD HAVE SURELY GOTTEN THE PREFERENCE OVER THE PLAYERS THAT HAD SCORED 3 OR 4 GOALS BEFORE THEIR RETURN. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT RYAN GIGS IS NOT A GREAT PLAYER HE IS A PLAYER THAT HAS LONGEVITY AND ALSO BEING A PART OF MANU TEAM THAT HAS WON A LOT. IF YOU WERE TO CHECK GIGS STATS AS IT RELATES TO HOW MANY ASSIST AND GOAL SCORED FOR MANU THROUGHOUT THE YEARS THEN A LOT OF PPL WOULD AGREE WITH ME AND HE IS OVERRATED. BEING A PART OF A SUCCESSFUL TEAM DOESN’T MAKE YOU A GREAT PLAYER. QUESTION, WHY IS IT THAT GIGS HAS NEVER WON FIFA WORLD PLAYER OF THE YEAR OR HOW MANY TIMES HAS HE BEEN NOMINATED FOR FIFA WORLD PLAYER OF THE YEAR? I CAN RECALL THE YEAR WHEN DWIGHT YORK AND ANDY COLE WERE PROLIFIC FOR MANU AND BOTH WERE KEY PLAYERS THE YEAR 1999 WHEN MANU WAS SUCCESSFUL AND THE ENGLISH MEDIA MADE IT SEEM THAT DAVID BECKHAM, SCHOLES AND GIGS WERE THE ONLY 3 KEY PLAYERS. STEVEN GERRARD AND FRANK LAMPARD ARE BETTER MIDFIELD PLAYERS THAN GIGS BUT RYAN GIGS IS A BETTER DRIBBLER THAN BOTH SO MY POINT IS NOT BECAUSE A PLAYER WON 10 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUES AND 2 CHAMPION LEAGUES YOU ARE BETTER THAN OTHER PLAYERS. AS I SAID IF U WERE TO CHECK THE STATS AND PERFORMANCES, HE DID NOT HAVE AN IMPACT ON MOST OF THE MATCHES FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS BUT HE HAS LONGEVITY AND IS A PART OF A SUCCESSFUL TEAM. I BELIEVE BOBBY CHARLTON, STEVEN GERRARD, FRANK LAMPARD AND GARY LINEKER ARE ENGLAND’S BEST PLAYERS OF ALL TIMES. PAUL SCHOLES IS ALSO OVERRATED DUE TO HOW HE STRUGGLED PLAYING FOR ENGLAND IN EUROPEAN CUP AND WORLD CUP. HERE IS A LIST OF PLAYERS;PAST AND PRESENT THAT STRUGGLED PLAYING FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN BIG TOURNAMENTS AND PERFORMED EXCEPTIONALLY WELL FOR CLUB:
    PAUL SCHOLES
    DAVID BECKAM
    RUUD VANISTEROY
    CHRISTIANO RONALDO
    LIONEL MESSI
    STEFAN MADRID LEGEND
    SANCHEZ, BARCELONA LEGEND
    FRANCESCO TOTTI
    KLOSER( STRUGGLE PLAYIING FOR CLUBS)
    PODOLSKI(STRUGGLED PLAYING FOR CLUB)
    WAYNE ROONEY
    ROBIN VAN PERSIE

IF U NOTICE THERE ARE SUM PLAYERS LIKE IBRA, BALE AND MANU LEGEND, GIGGS;WHO IS NOT A GREAT FOOTBALLER IN MY VIEW BUT JUST A MANU LEGEND ARE ALL UNFORTUNATE FOR PLAYING FOR A TEAM THAT IS NOT THAT STRONG, SO I CANT BE HARSH ON THOSE PLAYERS AND CRITICIZE THAT THEY DNT PLAY WELL FOR THEIR COUNTRY AND ACHIEVE THINGS. THOSE PLAYERS THAT ARE ON MY LIST THEY ALL PLAYED FOR STRONG TEAMS AND HAD THEY ALL PERFORMED FOR THEIR COUNTRY THE WAY THEY PERFORMED FOR THEIR CLUB THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN FOOTBALL LEGENDS AND NOT CLUB LEGENDS. HAVING SAID THAT, RYAN GIGGS IS A CLUB LEGEND DUE TO HIS LONGEVITY BEING APART OF A SUCCESSFUL TEAM THAT HAS WON A LOT. I’M NOT SAYING THAT IF A PLAYER DOESNT WIN THE EUROPEAN OR WORLD OR SOUTH AMERICAN CUP, HE DOESNT PERFORM WELL FOR A COUNTRY. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE PERFORMANCES WHEREIN THE PLAYERS THAT ARE ON MY LIST DO NOT HAVE A BIG IMPACT PLAYING FOR THEIR COUNTRIES. I BELIEVE SUAREZ IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD. HE HAD A BIG IMPACT IN THE SOUTH AMERICAN CUP AND LET URUGUAY WON. HE SCORED 3 GOALS AND ALSO HAD AN IMPACT IN HIS FIRST WORLD CUP. MESSI HAS NEVER WON A SOUTH AMERICAN CUP AND HAD VERY LITTLE IMPACT ON THE TOURNAMENT.
MY CURRENT TOP 5 PLAYERS INT HE WORLD:
    LUIS SUAREZ
    FALCAO
    IBRA
    MESSI
    CHRISTIANO RONALDO

    MARADONNA
    BRAZILLIAN RONALDO
    ZIDANE
    GARINCHA
    GERD MULLER
    FRANZ BECKENBAUER
    IBRAMOVICH
    STEVEN GERRARD
    FRANK LAMPARD
    MARCO VAN BASTEN
    RONALDHINO
    MICHEL PLATINI
