Most defensive midfielders aren’t known for their shooting abilities, but reported Liverpool target Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu showed that he knows where the back of the net is with this wonderful bit of skill as his Udinese side fell 3-2 to Lazio over the weekend.
The Reds American owners were on hand to watch Brendan Rodgers steer his side to a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday as they overcame a 2 goal deficit to snatch a point in a game that by rights they should have comfortably won. There was a noted lack of defensive steel in the midfield, and with Liverpool sweating an injury to Lucas after a clash of knees sent the Brazilian limping to the treatment table midway through the second half, a move for the £7mil rated Ghanian could become a reality before the transfer window closes up.
Badu is commonly the defensive shield for Udinese’s backline, but he found himself a bit further up the pitch and was able to show off some wonderful technique with a outside of the foot volley that looked nothing short of laser guided. Rodgers has been looking to add goals from other parts of the pitch as he looks to lessen the burden on strikers Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez; although you probably won’t see Badu do that too often at all, it’s nice to know that he can shoot if he needs to.
No offence to Lucas, but when’s the last time he did that?
