VIDEO: Luis Suarez’s 31-Goals

What, exactly, can you say about that? With 31-goals to his name, it’s safe to say that Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez played a massive role in the Reds run for the title last season — and even though they came up short in the end, finishing five places higher in the table and securing an all important return to the Champions League is nothing to turn your nose up at.

There’s certainly some memorable ones in there; the bullet header from the edge of the box against West Bromwich Albion is a personal favourite of mine and the curling free-kick at Goodison Park is one to be remembered, but both pale in comparison to the majesty that was the stunning 40-yard volley he punished Norwich City with — and those are all within his first ten strikes!

What would be a goal of a lifetime for some players turned out to be a weekly occurrence for Suarez as he swept up a number of individual plaudits and sealed the Premier League Golden Boot award while sharing the European equivalent with Real Madrid goal-machine Cristiano Ronaldo and matching the all-time Premier League record for goals in a 38-game season.

It was quite the year for our Luis, wasn’t it?

Toures complaining about Suarez winning. Toure is being a baby and bringing up the wrong reasons as to why he didn’t win player of the year. Suarez’s numbers are up there with Ronaldo’s. That says enough. But lets keep going shall we. Suarez scores 31 goals in 33 games without even taking penalties, oh and Ronaldo takes penalties. Suarez was also on top in number of assists this season as well. MVP for me.
