Daley Sinkgraven Hints at January Heerenveen Exit
Although Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has, for the time being anyway, ruled out bringing in reinforcements when the transfer window opens for business in January, the Reds continue to be linked with a host of faces all of the park.
The Anfield outfit may have got their season back to moving in the right direction with a narrow win over a bullish Stoke City yesterday, but the Merseysiders continue to look a shadow of the side that lit the Premier League up last season. Whether it’s a replacement for ailing shot-stopper Simon Mignolet, a new striker to get the Reds firing up top or some steel for the middle of the park, there’s no shortage of stories doing the rounds in the media — and with promising midfielder Daley Sinkgraven refusing to rule out a move away from Dutch club Heerenveen this winter, he’s the latest name to be linked with a move to Anfield.
“Could a transfer happen this winter? Yes, it could, if there is real interest. Who is there? I don’t know” the 19-year old told FOX Sports. “I heard about Ajax, but I don’t know anything about the other clubs that have been mentioned.”
The youngster, who has three goals and two assists for the Eredivisie outfit so far this season, is being linked with all the usual suspects in England with Manchester United also thought to have a keen interest in bringing Sinkgraven to the Premier League. While it’s no surprise that a talented youngster is being linked with Liverpool, Rodgers, who had £87mil worth of summer signings keeping club captain Steven Gerrard company on the bench yesterday, may not be given anything to spend in January and told to make due with what he has until the summer.
