Anfield Bound Adam Bogdan Tips His Hat to the Bolton Support

Late last week Liverpool confirmed that they had agreed to terms with Bolton Wanderers ‘keeper Adam Bogdan and the Hungarian shot-stopper is now set to join the Reds as a back-up for incumbent goalie Simon Mignolet when his contract expires on July 1st.

The 27-year old, who spent eight years with the Lancashire club, has written an open letter to the Trotters fans to not only give them a heartfelt thanks for their support during his time at the Macron Stadium, but to also wish them well in the future.

“I would like to say thank you to Bolton Wanderers for giving me the opportunity to fulfil my dream and become a professional football player in England,” writes Bogdan before going on to thank the clubs coaching staff. “I have to say a thank you to all of my coaches during my time at the club, as every one of them has contributed something towards my game. A huge thank you also goes to the fans. I have fond memories of you all and it makes it really hard to leave the football club, he continued. However, I have been given a fantastic chance in my life to join Liverpool Football Club and I would like to make the most of this opportunity. I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my career, but I will never forget the time I have spent at Bolton. I wish everyone associated with the club all the very best.

While the Hungarian shot-stopper may not be the kind of signing that Reds fans were expecting after the club brought in both James Milner and Danny Ings on free-transfers, many Bolton supporters have tipped him to make a run at Mignolet’s spot in the starting eleven. If he plays anything like he did when the Trotters held us to a goalless draw back in January, he just might have a shot…
