Official: Christian Benteke Transfer Finalised
We all kind of knew it was bound to happen, and it is now confirmed that Christian Benteke will be playing for Liverpool FC after completing a £32.5 Million transfer from Aston Villa.
The fee may be a little high, but I always go by the philosophy that it’s not my money and if the club deem this a wise investment so be it.
I for one, am really keen to see Benteke play for Liverpool, I think he has all the tools to make our attack work and although, I’d expect him to pick up 20 goals a season given his price tag, I can also see him working really well with the barrage of attackers we now have at our disposal, which should lead to a lot more goals throughout the team.
For his part, Benteke states “I think there are quality players, a lot of good players with big names of course. I’m happy to be part of this team and will [try] to help this team reach its goals.” And it is that quality that surrounds Benteke all the more appealing.
Liverpool struggled for goals last season and we have literally gone out of our way to buy as many goals as possible, with Ings, Origi, Benteke, Sturridge, Coutinho, Firmino, Ibe, Markovic, Lallana, Milner, Henderson and Can, it is not hard to see goals in this current squad.
Hopefully when all is said and done, Benteke will go on to prove that his price tag is as irrelevant as I think it is and hopefully, we are able to take the league by storm with a much more fluid, attacking lineup, paired with a robust midfield and a vastly improved backline.
With the transfer window now all but done and dusted as far as incoming transfers are concerned, we can look forward to seeing some unwanted players leave the Liverpool stables and when all is said and done, this window will go done as one of the best in living memory.
This player has no loyalty to anyone since he came to villa his agent has tried to get him sold because he’s greedy. He will be itching for a move every open transfer window like at villa and believe me he is not worth 32 million as you will find.
Goodby benteke and good riddance
I would believe you, if you didn’t sound so bitter.
The bit about the best transfer window is way off. For now at least. Lets see how it pans out over the season and then decide if or not.
I’ve been suggesting the same thing – I think Benteke will occupy defenders allowing our mids space to do their stuff. I suspect that was part of the plan. That and he will add a definite threat on set peices. Not sure our backline, apart from Clyne, is to solid. First few games will be interesting.
Yeah, there’s been some great ones over the years, but I genuinely believe this can be one of the best. But I like to exaggerate because I’m a storyteller. So you know, I may be way off on that one.
