Terms agreed – Liverpool to secure new deal with playmaker

Liverpool signed Sheyi Ojo when he was 14. Now, the young playmaker is 21 but he has only played a handful games for the Reds’ first team.

Mostly, the England international has been on loan and it seems that he is going to spend yet another season on loan.

News – Zero offers for Coutinho – He reflects on post Liverpool struggle

Ojo’s current contract with the European Champions will expire at the end of this month but as per Football Insider, the Merseysiders have agreed terms of a new five year deal with him and the announcement could be made once he has secured his next loan move.

So far, he has played on loan for clubs like Wigan, Wolves, Fulham and Reims.

As far as the next move is concerned, The Daily Express have exclusively revealed that Liverpool have agreed to loan the youngster to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.

Ojo is a versatile playmaker, who can effectively play on either flank and also in the central attacking midfield role. He scored his first (only) senior goal for the Reds in his second FA Cup appearance (2016) vs Exeter.

Jurgen Klopp is renowned for nurturing young players. At Dortmund, Gotze became a superstar under his guidance and at Anfield, he gave Alexander-Arnold the chance to shine and now the youngster is arguably one of the best right backs in the world.

The German manager gave Ojo his Premier League debut back in 2016 and in his 2nd appearance, he provided an assist vs Stoke. In his 5th appearance, he provided an assist vs Swansea and set up another goal in the next game against Watford. However, a back trouble ruined his season and since then, he has mostly spent his time on loan.

Let’s hope he does well in the Scottish Premiership under the management of Stevie G and returns to Anfield to improve our attack.
