£35million winger full of praise for “absolute beast” Liverpool star

Dutch international Steven Bergwijn had an impressive campaign for PSV Eindhoven last term but unfortunately, Ajax went on to win the domestic trophies under the leadership of De Ligt.

The 21-year-old winger featured in 33 league games for the Dutch club and directly contributed in 26 goals (14 goals and 12 assists).

News – Report – Liverpool would be willing to bid to sign £85million star

The youngster’s top performances earned him a debut for the Dutch national team last year. He was part of the squad that reached the final of the UEFA Nations League.

Bergwijn has been linked with clubs like Tottenham and Manchester United and he is valued at around £35million (Sky Sports News)

In a recent interview, he was full of praise for the Netherlands skipper and Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk.

The young winger told Goal and Voetbalzone:

“Van Dijk is an absolute beast. Of course, it is good to be able to measure myself against him in training with the national team.”

“But not just Virgil, they all play for massive clubs. I learn from all of them really. They all have a lot of experience and almost everyone plays for a big club.”

The 28-year-old central defender has been sensational for us since moving to Anfield. In the last campaign, we had the best defensive record in the Premier League under his command.

Unfortunately, Klopp’s men failed to win the PL title but Van Dijk deservedly won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

The former Southampton star was also impressive for us in our Champions League winning campaign and made it into the UCL Squad of the Season. It will not come as any surprise if he ends up winning the Ballon d’Or as well.
