Liverpool manager backed to sign £75million playmker

Liverpool have been pretty much inactive in the summer transfer window as far as reinforcing the first team is concerned.

Will they be able to secure a key signing before the end of the transfer window? We shall see.

News – Star like £70million attacker could move to Liverpool and really compete, says club legend

Liverpool legend and former Republic of Ireland star, Mark Lawrensen, has backed Jurgen Klopp to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid because he thinks that the German boss is the perfect man to revive the career of the Welsh playmaker (The Daily Star).

Lawrensen said:

“I think Klopp could get the best out of him. The only problem is would he fit into that front three but you could even play him on the left of the three in midfield and let him bomb on .

“He’s such a good player and such a talent. He just needs to be loved and Klopp would be the perfect fit to do that. People say he’s got injury problems and all that but Klopp would get him mega fit.”

The former Tottenham Hostpur star has proved his worth in the PL. At White Hart Lane, he won the PFA Player’s Player of the Year award on two occasions. Apart from Bale, only superstars like Alan Shearer, Mark Hughes, French legend Thierry Henry and current Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo have won the prize more than once.

He has won four European Cups and every domestic competition with the Spanish giants. Not to forget, he netted decisive goals in the 2013-14 and 2017-18 Champions League finals against the Rojiblancos and the Reds respectively.

Anyway, I’m not sure what kind of healing powers Lawrensen is talking about. If Klopp was good at getting people fit then how did he fail to fix Sturridge. The former striker was mostly on the treatment table during his time at Anfield.

In the last campaign, Naby Keita missed more than 10 games due to injury and Oxlade-Chamberlain was mostly out due to a knee concern. I’d want the midfield duo to remain fit next season.

Bale’s record (Transfermarkt) shows that he has never played an entire season for the Los Blancos without getting injured.

The Welsh international has been linked with a move away from the 13-time European champions this summer. His current contract will expire in 2022 and Madrid value him at £75million (Mirror Sport).

Have your say – Would you like Klopp to bring Bale to Anfield?

Liverpool f.c.needs Gareth Bale very urgently. Even the addition of Philippe Coutinho to the squad, would put the club in an enviable shape, the is capable of adequately competing, and attaining remarkable heights and achievements.
