Liverpool open talks to sign star with £27million clause, player keen on move – Expert
Liverpool have been linked with German international Timo Werner for quite some time and the latest updates seem positive for the European Champions.
According to Transfer Expert Ian McGarry (via The Daily Star), the Reds have initiated talks with RB Leipzig to hire the services of their star center forward, who is keen on moving to Liverpool to work under the guidance of compatriot Jurgen Klopp.

Ian McGary’s claims have also been covered by famous German source Sport Bild. The transfer expert has said that Liverpool want to secure the signature of the Kaiser in the winter transfer window and send him back to Leipzig until the end of the campaign.
Furthermore, renowned journalist, Duncan Castles, recently claimed that the Merseysiders have a greater chance of luring Werner than Man United (via The Daily Star) because they can offer attractive football and are present in the Champions League.
The 23-year-old goalscorer was in red hot form for the Bundesliga club in the last campaign. He made 37 appearances for Leipzig and directly contributed in no fewer than 29 goals (Transfermarkt).
This season, so far, he has already netted 10 goals and provided 3 assists in 14 appearances for the German side. For the senior national team, so far, he has played 28 times under the management of Joachim Low and scored 11 goals (Transfermarkt).
His current contract with RB Leipzig will expire in 2022 and it has a very low release clause (Football Insider) of 30 million euros (£27million).
Scenario at Anfield:
As far as our strike-force is concerned, Firmino is the main center forward. The Brazilian international is arguably the most important member of our attack who creates many openings for Mane and Salah up front. However, it must be remembered that the Samba star is not an out and out striker mostly plays in the False No. 9 role.
On the other hand, Origi, who scored some crucial goals in the last campaign, is naturally a striker but he has mainly played on the left flank this season and has helped us as a super sub.
Have your say, Liverpool should look to sign a proven quality goalscorer to strengthen things in the offense? Should Klopp splash the cash to sign Timo Werner from Leipzig?
