POLL: Would you hold it against Rafa if he took the Chelsea job?

Rafa recently gave an interview to the BBC in which he discussed his past successes in management and commented on the situation at Chelsea. He indicated that Chelsea fans would be accepting of him if he provided wins. Rafa faced similar adversity at Valencia when he was regarded as being too young and inexperienced for the job, but went on to win two league titles and a Uefa Cup. He also mentioned that there had not been a ‘proper offer’ from Chelsea. That is not to say there has been no offer, just not one that has interested him. They likely offered him an interim role while he is looking for a long-term project.

The Spaniard’s linkage with Chelsea has not sat well with many Liverpool fans. Many still have hopes of Benitez one day making a return to Anfield. While a jump to Chelsea seems unlikely, it seems to be an option to which Rafa is open. How would fans react if he made a move to Chelsea or another one of Liverpool’s rivals? Would you, as a fan, accept that he has moved on or would you be bitter if a rival club landed him?

Reds haven’t done that well at Chelsea, just ask Benyoun, Meireless and Torres, even Gerrard though better of it but I cannot be grudge a top manager taking a top job although Rafa tends to fight with his owners when things don’t go his way and I just can’t see him and Riman getting on. Good luck Rafa although I’d love to see you back with us at least as one of the Boot Room brain trust!

I think he should wait a bit because if Kenny keeps going as he is there could be a possibility of him coming back to us.
But I wouldn’t hold a grudge if he took the job but I certainly wouldn’t recommend Chelsea to any manager that isn’t just after money

Anyone seriously interested in that job would need to have a fearless mindset as the most likely outcome is the sack well before time.
The owner has too much input, too little patience and sees nothing significant in a contract.
Rafa would be best to wait for another opportunity elsewhere…

I have been sick seeing Rafa managing Liverpool for 6 years. I would lie on my back laughing while watching how would he destroy Chelsea and get sacked before the end of the season

When the Chelsea, man U, an arsenal fans wanted rafa to stay..i knew it was time for Rafa to go! The champions league in Istanbul was won by the two gerards. It was the French gerards team an part of an inspired performance by the English Gerrard. HUGE media spin had so many saying it was all rafa. Rafa had f##k all of a team talk, it was Hamman who probably should have started, that allowed Gerrard forward. This got us some good signings but we missed the best chance we ever had going second to win the league. Rafa an his facts rant, we started drawing games after that. The man is cold as stone – which around spoilt rich players is kinda risky!! In short no rafa, no thanks. Enjoy ur 9 months as a Chelsea manager!!

Rafa should only take the job if he’s got a few mortgages to pay off. Otherwise it’s a terrible move, but I wouldn’t be resentful if he took it. It’s not as if it’s United or Everton, anyway, only Chelsea.
