With reports over the weekend linking Benfica winger Lazar Markovic to his much anticipated medical on Merseyside, a photo of the 20-year old in a Liverpool shirt has emerged that puts the completion of the move beyond a shadow of a doubt.

The Serbian attacker enjoyed a breakout season in Portugal, helping his side to a domestic treble and a trip to the Europa League final. Despite only making the move to Benfica last summer, he’s been linked with a host of clubs — including Chelsea — but it now appears that there will be no last minute bids for the youngster with his move to Anfield secured.

The Reds are expected to unveil the £20mil man tomorrow with customary pictures of him holding the club shirt at Melwood, leaning on various objects and looking awkward soon to follow on the official website. Another staple of Liverpool signings is a first interview — and this is exactly what Markovic was doing when this leaked photo was taken.
