Iago Aspas Urges Liverpool Target Alberto Moreno to Stay in Spain

You can argue that he’s just looking out for his new side, or you can argue that he’s being a bit vindictive, but following his season long loan to Sevilla, misfit Liverpool striker Iago Aspas sure has had a lot to say.
The former Celta Vigo man failed to impress in the Premier League following a £7mil move to the English giants last summer, making a mere 14-appearances and finding the back of the net only once — against League One side Oldham Athletic in the early rounds of the FA Cup. Now that he’s back in Spain and bedding in to the Andalusian side, Aspas hasn’t exactly been the portrait of humility and has urged Liverpool target Alberto Moreno to snub a move to Merseyside.
“Albert Moreno would never feel like he does in Sevilla at Liverpool” he told the Spanish press when asked to comment on the Reds interest in the youngster. “I’ve been here for three or four days. Now that I belong to Sevilla, I prefer he stays here.”
Moreno has been a long term target for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who has seen a number of bids rejected for the fullback with the two sides at odds over his valuation. Although the Reds have eyesd a number of different alternatives, there’s yet to be any movement on that front with rumours suggesting that another round of negotiations could be opened in the near future. While it’s understandable that Aspas would like to see Sevilla’s best players stay on with him in Spain, the fact that he’s still technically employed by Liverpool makes this a faux pas on his part.
Didn’t his mother ever teach him if he has nothing nice to say, to keep his stupid mouth shut?
