Daniel Sturridge Tipped to Shine by Reds Legend Robbie Fowler

Liverpool’s pursuit of a new striker can sometimes overshadow the talent we already have at our disposal, but Reds legend Robbie Fowler hasn’t forgotten what an impact former Chelsea man Daniel Sturridge has made during his time on Merseyside and he’s tipped the versatile forward to go on to great things.
“He’s got that chance now, to go out there and prove to everyone what we already know: that he’s a great player. We know he’s been a shining light since he’s been here, but now he’s got even more of a chance” said the newly minted club ambassador before going on to discuss the departure of Sturridge’s former strike partner Luis Suarez to Barcelona. “He’s a great player, but no-one’s bigger than the club and we all know and accept that.”
In his first full season on Merseyside, Sturridge scored an impressive 21-league goals despite being relegated to the sidelines for portions of the season with niggling injuries. Though the loss of Suarez will surely resonate for a little while, Fowler knows that Liverpool will move on — just like they have in the past.
“We all know he’s a phenomenal player, but Liverpool as a club, they just go on. Think of all the players that have gone in the past – great players – and they’ve always adapted and gone on to do well” continued the former Reds striker. “Now all of a sudden people are saying ‘what will we do?’ but Liverpool as a club will always go on. Whatever team Brendan [Rodgers] puts out, they’ll all be singing from the same hymn-sheet and wanting to do well.”
