Fabio Borini Not Looking for a New Club Amid Exit Rumours

Following the “will he, won’t he?” drama of the summer, speculation linking Liverpool striker Fabio Borini with a move away from the club hasn’t slowed down one bit with Italian sides Inter Milan and Fiorentina apparently at the front of the queue for the his signature, but the fact remains that the 23-year old doesn’t want to go anywhere.
Borini looked all set to follow-up his successful spell on loan with Sunderland by making the move permanent after the Black Cats had an offer accepted for his services, but he instead stalled on the deal to set up a bit of deadline day drama with Queens Park Rangers muscling in with a bid of their own, only to have talks break down over wage demands. Even though the Italian knows that his game time will be limited at Anfield, he’s still not interested in moving away.
“Borini is a top level player, so consequently he has a contract with Liverpool and any club interested knows how to approach them,” his agent Marco De Marchi told FcInterNews.it in a recent interview. “At this moment I am certainly not going to look for another club, as the boy is happy to remain at Liverpool. Liverpool have no intention of loaning him out, as they already proved in August. We know that and so do all the clubs who came looking for him in the last transfer session.”
As Liverpool continue to struggle in front of the net , a move for a new striker has been mooted with Marseille hit-man Andre-Pierre Gignac apparently topping their shopping list in the January transfer window. We’ll see if the clubs resolve not to loan Borini holds up should they actually add another striker in January…
