Adam Lallana Refusing to Write-Off Liverpool Season

Despite their poor start to the season, Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is refusing to write-off the Reds chances of turning things around and is hoping that they can add to the extensive trophy collection already on display at Anfield.
“It has been a great year with everything that has gone on. A lot of things have happened and it will take some going to beat it next year. That is what I am going to try to do. Hopefully we can win a trophy this season,” he told the press while on duty with the English national team. “We all know results (for Liverpool) haven’t been to the level we want them to be – we have to just keep working hard. I can’t guarantee that results are going to change imminently, but I can assure you we are working hard for it to happen. I am enjoying it.”
The former Southampton captain, who made the move to Merseyside along with former Saints teammates Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren over the summer, has seen his contribution stunted so far with Philippe Coutinho in fine form and mostly keeping the 26-year old resigned to a bit part role. Regardless, with a packed schedule on the horizon, Lallana is looking forward to taking his chance when called upon.
“We have got a nice couple of games coming up internationally, and we all know we are facing a big couple of Champions League games, plus we need to pick our form up in the league” he continued. “I feel I am settling into the team nicely, albeit I want to up my contribution.”
