Jordan Henderson Carrying a “Minor” Hamstring Problem

Although concrete details, for the time being anyway, remain scarce, following England’s 3-1 win over Scotland at Celtic Park yesterday, news has begun to circulate that Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has picked up a minor hamstring injury.
Things, it appears, have continued to go from bad to worse. According to respected journalist and well known Anfield insider James Pearce of the Liverpool ECHO, the 24-year old, who still managed to make the bench, but was an unused substitute for the Three Lions, has given us even more reason to hate the international break by tweeting out the news. This, of course, spells trouble for Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.
Henderson hasn’t exactly been in fine form as of late, but it’s easy to say that about anyone that’s pulled on a Liverpool shirt since the beginning of September. While it’s a little bit early to start trumpeting the coming apocalypse, when you could this bit of sunshine with Daniel Sturridge’s most recent injury set-back, there’s little to no room for optimism at the dinner table.
Going into this weekends meeting with Crystal Palace — who are currently hovering just above the relegation zone on goal difference — you’d be hard pressed not to fret this recent bit of bother. Consider the fact that the Eagles, who will only be a mere two points off of us should they claim an upset at Selhurst Park on Sunday, have a habit of spoiling our parties, it’s high time we get get out the candles and start praying for something even remotely resembling good luck.
