Kolo Toure Looking for Team Spirit Ahead of Bournemouth Clash

We’re going to give 100%

Liverpool have no time to sit back and reflect on the crushing loss to bitter rivals Manchester United at the weekend with their League Cup quarter-final meeting with Championship leaders AFC Bournemouth just over the horizon.

Not having time to dwell on the defeat could very well be a blessing in disguise as the Reds look to regain some composure going into Sunday’s meeting with Arsenal — something veteran defender Kolo Toure is counting on. “As a team, the most important thing is that we stick together. We will work hard in training and there is another game coming” said the Ivorian ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Dean Court. “We’ll give 100 per cent to win in the Capital One Cup and we’re going to be better.”

This is the second time this year that the Reds have come up against Bournemouth in a cup competition with the Anfield outfit running out 2-0 winners in an FA Cup clash at the end of January. That, it has to be said, was then and this, as you know, is now. When they last met, Liverpool looked good value for money to capture their first title of the Premier League era, but as they go into this particular meeting, Brendan Rodgers boys are struggling to recapture anything resembling those dynamite performances, making them prime candidates for a giant killer.

At the beginging of the season, Rodgers set his side a goal of winning a trophy, and the League Cup is looking like their best, if not only realistic, option at the moment. “It is a very important game for us and we’ll give all we have got to win it. Every game is really important for us” continued Toure. “We can go really far in the Capital One Cup and it’s very important to win a trophy.”
