So far, Liverpool have only lured youngsters like of Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott in the summer transfer window.
If reports in Spain are anything to go by then the Reds are now interested in hiring the services of an experienced star in the form of Colombian international Davinson Sanchez.
According to Don Balon, the 23-year-old defender is upset with his situation at Tottenham and has told his agent to study offers.
As far as the offers are concerned, the Spanish news source have claimed that Sanchez’s name is very popular at Liverpool, who have offered him a starring role to move to Anfield.
On the other hand, it is stated that Manchester United are also interested in the South American star, who is valued at around 60 million euros (£55million).
Rating the report:
In all fairness, this report from Don Balon looks completely ridiculous and unbelievable because the European champions do not need another central defender.
Liverpool had the best defensive record in the Premier League last term and they have got enough quality and depth in the central defense with stars like Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez, Lovren and newcomer Van den Berg around.
As far as United are concerned, they have already agreed a deal to make Harry Maguire the most expensive defender in the history, so, it makes no sense for them to move for Sanchez.
We do lack depth in the fullback positions because Klopp has not replaced Moreno as yet and Clyne has recently suffered a long term knee injury. Therefore, the German manager must act swiftly and strengthen the positions before the transfer window closes next week.
