Liverpool hot in chase to sign £190,000-a-week star in January – Face competition
Liverpool have been linked with England international Jadon Sancho for quite some time and the latest reports suggest that the winger could leave Dortmund in the winter transfer window.
As per The Independent, the 19-year-old star wants to leave the German club, who are also willing to listen to offers to get rid of him in January. The British source claimed that the Reds are keeping a watchful eye on the situation.
News – Report – Liverpool seriously intent on signing £60million winger
On the other hand, reports from Germany (Bild via Sport Witness) suggest that the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid are the hottest candidates to hire the services of the £190,000-a-week (The Daily Mail) star in January.
Last season, the teenage sensation made it into the Bundesliga Team of the Season after impressive performances for Dortmund under the management of Lucien Favre. In the league, he started 26 games and directly contributed in no fewer than 29 goals (12 goals and 17 assists).
In the current campaign, he has so far scored 7 goals and provided 9 assists in 19 appearances for the German club. Sancho scored a sublime goal against Barcelona in the midweek Champions League fixture and netted the opening goal earlier in the day vs Hertha BSC. So, why does the Dortmund management want him gone?
Disciplinary concerns:
Dortmund are concerned with his discipline and rightly so. The former Man City player arrived late from international duty last month and was fined and suspended for the game against Borussia Monchengladbach (The Mirror).
Moreover, reports suggest that he even turned up late for the team meeting before the CL tie at the Nou Camp and therefore, Favre opted to start him on the bench vs the Catalan giants (Bild).
Remember, back in 2016, Sakho arrived late for training once and Klopp punished him by sending him back from the club’s pre-season US tour. The French international was never able to fix his relation with the German manager and was eventually offloaded.
Liverpool do need to improve the depth of their offense but in your view, should they sign someone like Jadon Sancho, who has serious disciplinary concerns?
