Liverpool Boss Brendan Rodgers Hints at More Movement in the Market

With the transfer window set to slam shut late Monday evening, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has hinted that the Reds aren’t quite finished in the market quite yet, but that they’ll likely be more players leaving than coming in.
It’s been a busy summer for the Northern Irishman with nine new players coming in to Anfield as he looks to assemble a squad that compete not only in the league, but also in Europe as well. With the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona swelling his coffers, we’ve seen big money moves for the likes of Mario Balotelli, Alberto Moreno and Dejan Lovren fill glaring holes in the team, but the players leaving Merseyside have been just as significant with more set to depart before Monday evening.
“There’ll probably be more movement out than coming in, I would say” Rodgers told Liverpool’s official website. “We’ve still got offers for players to go. Every player here knows their situation, so if they’re here after that deadline on Monday then they’ve decided to stay but their game time will be very limited. At this moment in time, there are not many more to come in, if any.”
There are still offers on the table for striker Fabio Borini from Sunderland and for winger Oussama Assaidi from Stoke City while Lucas also looks set to depart as well with Italian side Napoli a long rumoured destination for the Brazilian. Be sure to pop in Monday to keep track of all the comings and goings around Anfield.
