Kolo Toure Looking for Chelsea Revenge

After putting in an assured performance on his return to the starting eleven, Liverpool defender Kolo Toure is not only looking to retain his spot in the side when Premier League pace-setters Chelsea visit Anfield on Saturday, but he’l also looking to extract some revenge against the team he believes cost him his chance at winning another title.
“Definitely. It is a very important game when you think what they did to us last season” said the Ivorian, who had lifted the Premier League trophy with both Arsenal and Manchester City, when asked if the Reds would be looking for payback when Jose Mourinho’s side visit Merseyside this weekend. “That cost us the league and now we have the chance to beat them. I can’t wait for that, honestly.”
Toure had a chance to leave Anfield during the summer for a chance at more first team action when Turkish side Trabzonspor came calling, but the 33-year old decided to stay at Liverpool at fight for his place in the squad. On the back of his performance at the reigning European champions on Tuesday night, which many believe was his best performance since pulling on the famous red shirt, he could very well be in line to keep his place in the starting eleven for the Chelsea match.
“Every game for Liverpool you want to win and Chelsea are playing well now. When you play at home in a game like that it is going to be attacking teams. Chelsea attack and Liverpool attack as well. I think you are going to see a great game” continued the veteran defender. “I’m ready for it. Any position, I am ready to fight for my club, I play from my heart, that is what is important. We want to win.”
