Piotr Zielinski’s Agent Suggests Liverpool Move Could Break Down

At the beginning of the week it sounded like Liverpool’s £11.6mil move for Udinese winger Piotr Zielinski was all but wrapped up, but now for whatever reason now appears to be in doubt. While it could very well just be his agent stirring the pot, Bartlomiej Bolek has cast doubts over his clients move to Merseyside in a recent chat with an AS Roma website.

“Is the Liverpool move at risk? Yes, maybe,” he told ForzaRoma.info when asked about Zielinski’s supposedly stalled transfer to Anfield. “It’s difficult to say [whether Roma are still interested],” mused a cagey Bolek when the subject of the Giallorossi reviving their interest in his client came up. “At the moment the lad is totally concentrated on the Euros.”

While there’s been no suggestion from Reds boss Jurgen Klopp or any other senior figure on Merseyside that Zielinski is a target, the player himself has been more than willing to discuss their rumoured interest in him — even going so far as to say that he and the German have spoken at length about his future. Klopp, of course, has made no secret of his desire to add some width to his squad, having bemoaned a lack of wingers on more than one occasion. That, of course, puts him in a bit of a tight spot.

After failing to live up to the pre-season hype, youngster Jordon Ibe could be on the way out of Anfield this summer with a number of clubs reportedly interested in his services. In the same vein, Lazar Markovic, another player who underwhelmed this season during his time on loan with Fenerbache, could be an option already on the books, but the Turkish side are reportedly keen to take the Serbian in for one more season. Zielinski, for his part, had a pretty productive campaign and could be a stand out for Poland at the Euros this summer — if we’re serious about signing him, we may want to do it sooner rather than later.
