Liverpool have ‘great interest’ in signing £190,000-a-week star – Legend
Liverpool were highly inactive in the summer transfer window but they are doing great so far this term because they held on to all the key stars.
Next summer, the Reds should look to strengthen their first team and a highly rated attacker is linked.
News – Liverpool ready to step up chase to sign “special player” – Face competition
Anfield legend Dietmar Hamann, who won the UEFA Cup and the Champions League with the Merseysiders, recently told Sky Germany that Liverpool have ‘great interest’ in hiring the services of England international and Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
Stats, playing position, contract, wages:
The 19-year-old starlet is mainly a right winger and normally plays in his preferred position for the Bundesliga side and for the Three Lions.
In the last campaign, the teenage starlet featured in 43 games for the German club (all competitions) and directly contributed in 32 goals (13 goals and 19 assists).
As far as the current season is concerned, so far, he has played 11 games and directly contributed in as many goals (4 goals and 7 assist) under the management of Lucien Favre (Transfermarkt).
Sancho made his senior international debut last year and so far, he has scored two goals in 10 appearances for England. His current contract with Dortmund will expire in 2022 and at the moment, he earns £190,000-a-week (The Daily Mail).
Scenario at Anfield:
Liverpool have world class wingers in the form of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
The Egyptian international is our first choice right winger and as far as the back-up option is concerned, Shaqiri is there. The Swiss international had an impressive campaign at Anfield last term but this season, so far, he has mostly been on the treatment table.
Mane can effectively play on the right wing as well but since the arrival of Salah, he has mostly played on the left flank and excelled well under Klopp. Against Man United, both Salah and Shaqiri were out injured and Mane had to play on the right flank while Origi started on the left. In all fairness, we clearly missed Salah at Old Trafford.
Have your say – Do Liverpool need more depth in their wide attacking positions? Should they splash the cash to sign Sancho?
