If you love Liverpool FC, films and reliving that magical night in Turkey, then One Night in Istanbul — based on the play of the same name by Scouse writer and film-maker Nicky Allt — is your wet dream finally realized as a reality.
One part crime comedy caper, one part re-telling of maybe the most exciting night in the Reds history, One Night in Istanbul is the story of two hard-up Liverpool taxi drivers who strike a dangerous deal with a loan shark to take their son’s to the Champions League final. As you can imagine, wackiness — and three goals in six minutes — ensues and it only gets better from there.
The film, which is being released through Odean and was made in association with the club and Stray Dogs Films, will be out September 11th and stars Paul Barber of Full Monty fame, Sleepy Hollow’s Steven Waddington, Samantha Womack from Eastenders and Waterloo Road’s Lucien Laviscount.
Keep your eye on the official website for more news on the film in the coming weeks.
