Derby County Keeping Tabs on Jordon Ibe With View to Loan Deal

With the transfer window winding down, Liverpool have some business to take care of. Although the signing of AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli is expected to create a headline vortex for weeks to come, news that Jordon Ibe could be heading out on loan will be perking up ears as well.
The talented 18-year old remains very much in Reds manager Brendan Rodgers plans for the future, but that doesn’t look like it includes this season. A number of new signings will surely relegate him to the reserves for the upcoming campaign, so his name has cropped up with a number of different clubs and now a loan deal looks to be on the cards for the talented youngster — but with who exactly remains to be seen.
After spending a successful loan spell at Birmingham City during the tail end of last season, this wouldn’t be the first time he’s been sent out into the world to make his fortune. A few days ago, Ibe looked destined to be joining Bolton Wanderers, but now his future isn’t quite so clear with Derby County popping up in the equation as well.
“He is someone who has always been on the radar, but I think he is on the radar of a lot of clubs. Wherever he goes someone will get a very good player” said Rams boss Steve McCLaren when asked about a possible loan move. “He is the type of player I suppose we have to be in the market for, but I have heard a lot of clubs are interested in him. I think Liverpool are holding onto him to as near to the close of the transfer window as possible. He is someone we keep an eye on.”
And we’ll be keeping an eye on him — and where he ends up — as well.
