Lazar Markovic Allays Injury Fears

Not crocked

Liverpool have had terrible luck over the last two international breaks with players either coming home injured or suffering from fatigue. Dejan Lovren and Raheem Sterling have been the last two players to suffer the Euro-2016 curse and winger Lazar Markovic looked like he was about to join the club before allaying the fears of Reds fans everywhere.

Reports coming out of Serbia had the 20-year old pegged for up to three weeks on the sidelines after a suspected muscle tear during Serbia’s 1-1 draw with Armenia on Saturday forced him off the pitch. Thankfully, that’s not the case with Markovic taking to social media yesterday to confirm that he’ll be fit to face-off against Albania later today.

“I’m ready for match tomorrow!” said the winger on his Facebook page. “Injury is not as bad as it seemed at first sight.” And Kopites everywhere let out a collective sigh of relief.

Although the youngster has taken time to adjust to life at Anfield, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers remains a big fan of Serbian attacker and he remains very much in his plans for the future. Regardless of his form, with the number of players the Reds have out injured at the moment, the more fit bodies at our disposal, the better.
