According to reports (The S*n via The Daily Express), Liverpool are favorites to secure the signature of Exeter City midfielder Benjamin Chrisene ahead of Chelsea, Southampton and German champions Bayern Munich.

The Reds have invited the 15-year-old to play with their youth team this weekend as they look to hire his services. It must be remembered that Chelsea under a transfer ban until the end of the current campaign.

The teenage midfield talent became the youngest ever player to feature for Exeter’s first team when he came on the field against Coventry City in the first round of the Carabao Cup two months back.

The Devon club lost that fixture 4-1 and Chrisene was brought on the field in the 88th minute after the club conceded the fourth goal of the contest.

As far as his international career is concerned, so far, the youngster has made two appearances for England’s U-15 team earlier this year (Transfermarkt).

Liverpool have got a lot of midfielders in their academy but it has been hard for them to feature for the first team mainly because Klopp has got an overcrowded midfield department.

In our Carabao Cup game against MK Dons, first team midfielders like Keita, Lallana and Oxlade-Chamberlain were in the starting XI. In the Premier League, the trio have warmed the bench thus far this season because the German boss has preferred the likes of Fabinho, Wijnaldum and Henderson.

Nevertheless, lets see if we can secure the signing of Chrisene and then let’s hope he is good enough to feature for the first team in future.
